Oludamola Adebowale is a distinguished Nigerian archivist, historian, writer, and curator, deeply committed to preserving and sharing the rich cultural and historical heritage of Nigeria. His expertise in Nigerian history and culture is backed by a diverse academic foundation, spanning Estate Management from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Integrated Branding and Copywriting from Orange Academy, Business and Marketing Development from the Lagos Entrepreneurial Business School, and Copyright and Intellectual Property Law, a Copyright X course offered through Harvard Law School and The Nigeria Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (University of Lagos)

On October 19, 2024, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in Public Administration and also an Integrity Fellow Humanitarian Award from Anointed University, South Africa for his contributions to Nigerian culture and the arts.
His professional journey reflects a remarkable ability to navigate both local and international contexts. He served for five years as the Nigeria Country Manager for Instant Grass International—a trend forecasting and consumer insight company based in Cape Town, South Africa—and has consulted for agencies in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
Driven by a passion for making history accessible, Oludamola is the Founder and Creative Director of ASIRI Magazine (established in 2013), a leading cultural platform known for its meticulous research and engaging storytelling with archival imagery, documents, and footage of Nigerian history, culture, and heritage. The brand has earned international recognition and academic citations. For five years, he was a regular contributor to the Arts and Culture section of Guardian Life, where his work continues to shape cultural discourse within and outside Nigeria.
As a seasoned curator, Oludamola has organized numerous exhibitions, including the Ogun State African Drum Festival and annual commemorative showcases for Professor Wole Soyinka’s birthday. He serves as Senior Curator for the Nigerian-Brazilian Public History Project, where he archives Afro-Brazilian history, and in 2020 curated the British Council’s 75th Anniversary Virtual Exhibition, among many others curated over the last six years.
In March 2025, he was engaged by the Sijuwade Royal Family as Curator and Consultant of the 10th Year Memorial Celebrations in honour of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Okunade Adele Sijuwade (Olubuse II), the 50th Ooni of Ile-Ife.
His archival and research skills extend into filmmaking, with contributions to projects such as Funmilayo Ransome Kuti (2024) and Man Died (2024). He has led major digitization efforts, including the archives of Dr. Chief Moses Majekodunmi, preserving vital historical records, and also built the Chief Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi Museum booth at the Federal College of Education, Osiele in Abeokuta.
Oludamola’s expertise in indigenous languages and Yoruba culture has been cited in international media. He was selected for the Horniman Museums and Gardens UK project on Nigeria at 60 and consulted on the Goethe Institut’s Whos Who in the Yoruba Pantheon. A tech enthusiast and creative innovator,he also created the 1851 Agidingbi Chess game, Nigeria’s first variant of chess., Nigeria’s first variant of chess.
He is an Associate Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (UK) and a Member of the International Council on Archives (ICA). He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Section on Literary and Artistic Archives, International Council on Archives, for the 2025–2028 term.
Through his scholarship, curatorial work, and archival projects, Oludamola plays a vital role in illuminating Nigeria’s cultural legacy—ensuring its rich heritage remains accessible to both present and future generations.
